What’s Your Value?

A recent client had 10 years of Project Management experience, with a track record of bringing efficient processes and systems to their workplace. In one example, the client introduced a new system that saved the company $30K / year and increased productivity by 40%.

But, their resume did not have that information. And they didn’t bring it up when we initially talked about it.

Why?

Because they didn’t recognize it as something worth mentioning.

Is your mind blown? This isn’t uncommon. Most of our clients are either modest or unaware of their accomplishments. And if they can’t communicate their BRAG stories to us, they certainly aren’t communicating them to hiring managers.

You probably have unrecognized BRAG Stories too.

Often, it’s hard to recognize what you actually bring to the table. We read so many resumes that look like lists of tasks, rather than a list of accomplishments. And when we ask clients about what they’re good at or what value they bring, we get a similar list of job duties.

In the job hunt or if you want a raise or a promotion, you need to demonstrate that you bring more than that. And 99% of the time, our clients do bring more. A heck of a lot more. They just can’t see it.

This is why Debi and I founded The Resume Rehab. To help clients communicate their worth. Because they are valuable. And they bring value. But, they might need help expressing it.
